Production Manager

The Production Manager is responsible for collaborating across functional teams to prioritize team workload of all production related activities with a goal of ensuring that all departmental activities move as expected and planned. He/she oversees all production machinery, staff and regularly updated management on the status of the production department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Responsible for coordinating all production and quality control activities for all BCI production activities.

·       Supervise production staff, monitor performance and coach to ensure goals are being met.

·       Working with the production supervisor to schedule resources to meet workloads for all shifts.

·       Ensure that all production employees are performing their functions safely and productively.

·       Drive changes for improvement of all production processes for BCI products.

·       Control inventory levels of raw materials and supplies needed to support the production cycle.

·       Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements for all production staff.

·       Ensure maintenance of equipment condition logs, safety inspection reports, and all other required regulatory reporting/tracking.

·       Carry out regular checks to monitor the quality of all items packaged and produced at BCI.

·       Make regular reports to management regarding the activities in production department.

·       Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies lie NEMA and Ministry of Labour.

·       Ensure the procurement of appropriate machinery for the production department.

·       Work with the production engineer to ensure proper preventive maintenance of all BCI machinery.

  • Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.

  

Qualifications, Skills and experience;

1.     Bachelor’s degree of electrical & mechanical engineering related courses.

2.     A master’s degree in a business-related course will be an added advantage.

3.     5 years’ experience in a similar position preferably from a factory setting.

4.     Ability to manage and motivate low skilled workers.

5.     Relates and works well with people of different cultures, gender and backgrounds.

6.     Excellent interpersonal skills

7.     Knowledge of MS computer packages is a must.

8.     Ability to observe confidentiality is highly desirable.

9.     Must have good written, oral and presentation commutation skills.
